IMPORTANT NOTICE

A Local Business Tax Receipt application requires additional documentation, including documents from State and County agencies. It is advised that you gather all required documentation before proceeding with this application (see here for details). The required documentation includes:

  1. a copy of signed lease or proof of ownership (property tax bill, warranty deed, bill of sale, insurance certificate, or utility bill, etc.);
  2. a copy of County, State or Federal Licenses (where applicable);
  3. a current and active account with the Broward County Tax Collector is required to be obtained;
  4. a copy of a Fictitious Name Registration (if using a DBA) and/or Articles of Incorporation (if a corporation/LLC).

  5. a copy of a Certificate of Use Permit (except for single-family residential and condominiums).

  6. a payment of a $25.00 non-refundable application processing fee and the local business tax fee.
    The full amount will be determined when the application is submitted and reviewed;
  7. The business tax year coincides with the City's Fiscal Year, which runs from October 1st to September 30th of the following year.
    If you apply for a Local Business Tax Receipt on or after April 1, you are required to pay only 50% of the annual amount.
